Anywhere outside Burgundy Pinot Noir represents the most complex riddle for both oenologists and wine growers. At Belje we have tried to deal with the Pinot Noir riddle by interfering as little as possible with its wine life, having gained a wine of a strong fruity scent and taste, from roast strawberries to cherries, raspberries, blackberries and very sweet prunes. The ripeness and freshness of this Pinot reflects Baranya’s terroir and its hot mineral soil.
Besides red deer, roe deer and wild boar, this Pinot should be a great match with baked salmon, tuna steak or very strong cheese like aged Parmesan or Belje’s Gold. Grilled porcini mushrooms are another irresistable option.
