After the Cuvée line, which is a completely new part of Vina Belje’s product range, new vintages of Select and Premium line are also ready to enter the market, after having been carefully prepared in the cellars of Belje. Considering that 2020 is a vintage of exceptional quality, its entry into the market has been timed for the beginning of the summer, so that the wines could reach their full potential.
The Select line, which is commonly referred to in the market as the ‘quality line’, comprises 0.75 L bottles of Graševina, Chardonnay, Frankovka, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. These fresh, nicely balanced and well-rounded single-variety wines are capped with a screw cap so that they may be opened more easily and they bear new, contemporary semi-transparent labels, with a clearly recognisable colour code for each variety.
Premium wines have a structure that is much stronger and complex, with the recognisable signature of Baranja vineyards. The wines bear elegant gold (Graševina and Chardonnay) and black labels (Frankovka, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon blend). The high quality of wines that comprise this line is confirmed by the gold and silver medals for Graševina, Merlot and Frankovka won at this year’s national and international wine competitions.
Vina Belje’s new visual identity connects the wines with the location where they are created, reminding us of the Banovo Brdo locality covered by a lacework of vineyards in which the select varieties intertwine. There the vines are tended by winegrowers who rely on centuries of winegrowing tradition and who understand and know every single vine. The lacework element on the new labels of Select and Premium wines of Vina Belje symbolizes the terroir of Baranja and its authentic wines. It interlaces the wine and the fertile soil, the warmth of the sun, the power of the Danube and the strength of the people that create this wine.
As explained by oenologists Suzana Zovko and Marijan Knežević, “the wines that have just entered the market are the result of the excellent harvest we had in 2020. Premium red wines that we have prepared for the market come from the harvest of 2019, which was also excellent, especially when it comes to red wines. With the launch of these new vintages we have also refreshed the visual identity of our wines, which is now not only in keeping with the trends, but also creates new trends, not only when it comes to the conceptual design but also in terms of the finished labels. We are proud of our Graševina wines, which are exceptional and gastronomically versatile wines that we really recommend.”
