Baranja has been “the mother of wine” since the antiquity, the ancient Romans having brought the first grapevine to the region. The very name of this region is a tribute to wine, having been coined from the Hungarian words bor (wine) and anya (mother). Local wines are therefore an indispensable part of every proper visit to Baranja. The Vina Belje tasting room adjacent to the historical wine cellar in the centre of Kneževi Vinogradi is the ideal venue for tasting wines and traditional specialties such as the kulen sausage of Baranja, proud bearer of a protected designation of origin.
Under the expert guidance of our sommeliers, our tasting guests can choose between different combinations of a wide range of Belje wines, which can also be paired with local specialties. A well-stocked wine boutique and souvenir shop above the historical cellar cater to everyone who would like to take a little piece of Baranja home with them.
